Good to know.
Everything families most often ask, answered plainly. Anything else, just message us.
What is Roots & Seva?+
Roots & Seva is a family-run service based in Indore that personally arranges selected Hindu sevas — Gau Seva, Anna Daan and Brahman Bhojan — for families in India and around the world.
Where are sevas currently arranged?+
Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Roots & Seva is intentionally a local, family-run service. We personally arrange the sevas we accept here in Indore rather than operating through a nationwide partner network.
Can I arrange a seva from outside India?+
Yes. Roots & Seva is designed especially for families living abroad who want something meaningful arranged in India without needing a local family member to take care of the logistics.
Who actually arranges my seva?+
A member of our family. We prepare what is needed here in Indore and personally visit the relevant gaushala or temple on the agreed day, then share the acknowledgement with you afterwards.
Will the seva happen on the requested day?+
Once the date has been confirmed and the booking accepted, we schedule the seva for the agreed date. If an unexpected issue would prevent us from carrying out the arrangement as agreed, we contact you rather than quietly substitute a different date or service.
What if I do not know the tithi?+
Share whatever information you know. If the booking depends on a specific Hindu tithi, we can help identify what needs to be confirmed before the seva date is final. We do not present automated tithi calculations as authoritative where tradition or family practice may differ.
Do you provide receipts?+
Where the gaushala, shop, temple or establishment issues a receipt or bill, we share it with you. For items we purchase ourselves, we retain and share relevant purchase documentation where available.
How much does it cost?+
Costs depend on the seva and what you would like arranged. We show the actual seva or material cost separately from our arrangement, travel and documentation fee, and confirm the exact amount with you before any payment.
How do I pay?+
After we confirm the details, you receive a transparent quotation. Once you're happy, a secure payment link is sent and the booking is confirmed — international customers can pay through the secure link after the details are agreed.
Is Roots & Seva an NGO?+
No. Roots & Seva is a family-run seva arrangement service. Where an underlying payment is made to a gaushala or other institution, that contribution is separate from the fee Roots & Seva charges for arrangement, travel and documentation.
Can I book in advance, or arrange a recurring annual seva?+
Yes. You can arrange a seva ahead of an upcoming tithi, and many families choose to repeat a seva each year. Mention a date you'd like remembered and we'll note it for next year.
What happens if the planned location becomes unavailable?+
We contact you before making a material change. If the agreed arrangement cannot be completed as promised, we explain the available alternatives and proceed only after the change has been discussed.
Can my seva remain private?+
Yes. A seva does not need to appear publicly on our website or social media. Real completed-seva content is only shared publicly with appropriate family permission.
